This paper firstly gives a brief introduction to the rise and development of transdisciplinary research and interdisciplinary re- search, then expounds cross-cutting research＇s meaning and characteristics. Finally, as for the research status of cross-cutting research in China, five suggestions about how to carry out the analysis in China are presented.
