Wind power has the characteristics of volatility and intermittence, which will have a greater impact on power quality. The proposed hybrid energy storage system based on ultra capacitors and batteries can quickly throughput active power, keep wind power fluctuations, and play complementary strengths of a ultra capacitor and battery on the technology performance, which improves economic performance and technical performance of the system. The hybrid energy storage system model was established, and the directly-drive wind power system simulation platform based on the hybrid energy storage and the control strategy were established. The simulation research was studied to verify the accuracy and validity.
