The paper introduces an Intelligent Design System for Sugarcane Harvester （SHIDS） based on knowledge,and expounds the architecture of SHIDS,also the paper discusses the functions and implementation of the main modules, which include knowledge base, database, reasoning machine and CAD/CAM/CAE subsystem. This paper gives a reference for the research on intelligent design system.
