Classified Analects of Master Zhu contains vocabulary inherited from different historical periods which reveals the development between the meaning of spoken language and the meaning of language.The vocabulary used in the questions and answers between Zhu Xi and his students displays the application features of both classical Chinese languages and the vernacular Chinese languages,the flexible manipulation of the vocabulary,the association with something in thinking,the attachment of importance to the meanings,and the flavour of the southern dialect.
