This article discusses the association between borderland security and borderland urbanization by analyzing the natural, economic and social environment in the border areas from the perspective of borderland security. Moreover, it also ar- gues that the promotion of borderland urbanization will enhance borderland security, and on the basis of that, it demonstrates the characteristics of public goods which are presented by borderland urbanization.
