比较中西方情境下的悖论思想起源,辨识已有受到两者启发的研究,明确了组织悖论特征对悖论管理有效性的启示.研究表明:①中国本土悖论思想起源于辨证思想,而西方悖论思想起源于对形式逻辑的反思;②组织中的悖论相互关联.有效管理悖论依赖于同时进行整合与分化以引导悖论进入有益循环.悖论管理的有益循环依赖于悖论的非对称性平衡.从与代表性本土理论的比较、与宏观制度理论的联系以及与微观领导理论的联系3个方面探测了悖论管理的未来研究方向.
Paradox management research offers insights on addressing the more and more complex organizational tensions. Prior research has neither clarified the distinctions between Chinese and Western origins of thoughts about paradox, nor identified how characteristics of paradox influence the effectiveness of paradox management. To fill this gap, this study compared the two origins o{ thoughts, identified the relevant extant research, and clarified the theoretical implications brought by the characteristics of paradox. The results show-@ Chinese indigenous thoughts about paradox origi- nate from the dialectics while the Western ones originate from the reflections on the formal logic; (~) organizational paradoxes are interrelated, and the effective paradox management depends on the simul- taneous integration and differentiation, which enables paradox to enter into virtuous cycles. The vir- tuous cycles also depend on the asymmetrical balance for paradox. Compared with representative Chi- nese indigenous theories, institutional theory and leadership theory, this study then explored the fu- ture research for paradox management.
