To cultivate the students＇ autonomous learning ability is the core of the new stage of College English teaching reform. This paper introduces the research background and theoretical basis of English autonomous learning,and analyses the current situation based on questionnaires. It proposes training strat-egies from the point of autonomous awareness cultivation, harmonious teacher-and-student relationship es-tablishment, full use of various resources, and emphasis on serf-evaluation in learning process.
