A questionnaire investigation was made in Wuchuan of Guizhou Province to study ethnic identity of Gelao middle school students. The results show that 1 ） students have both high ethnic identity and identity of the Chinese nation, with the latter higher than the former; 2 ） there is a significant positive correlation between the two identities; and 3 ） there is a remarkable difference between the two identities in grades, with the first year students lower than the second year and the third year students, whereas there is no significant difference in gender.
