The teacher training for ＂ Summer Institute＂ （or SI tor short）in American researcn universities is a successful model in the revolution of higher science education. It mainly brings in a new teaching mode in higher science education, which is called scientific inquiry teaching. SI trains teachers by actively learning, teaching assessment, and differentiating instruction, etc. With the help of experts, teachers who participate in training personally involve in design detailed teaching materials, such as the framework of teachable unit, evaluation criterion, etc. We can draw a conclusion from SI that the revolution in American higher science ed- ucation stresses the exploration about new teaching mode. And SI is ＂ Ahead＂ in the action, and ＂ High＂ efficient.
