This paper presents methods for the division of design phase of international EPC projects and analyzes the general practices for the design management of the owner, including the design scope, design basis and technical standards, review and approval of the design documents, design responsibility, compilation and submission of the completion documents and operation and maintenance manuals. It also discusses the key issues in Owner＇s design management, such as design standards, design responsibility, design disputes and intellectual property rights in design documents.
