A kind of Tikhonov Regularization method based on genetic algorithms has been suggested to solve ill-posed inverse problems.Genetic algorithm is adopted to minimize the smoothing functional.The basic principle of the method as well as the process of the technique has been presented.As an application,the cross-section area estimation of the cantilever beam and heat conduction inverse problem is presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the method.
