Research progress of chiral surfactants was reviewed.Current research status of natural chiral surfactants such as bile salts,digitonins and saponins as well as synthetic chiral surfactants derived from amino acids,alkylglucosides,tartaric acids,quaternary ammonium salts and polymers were introduced as focal points.Applications of chiral surfactants in enantioseparation,asymmetric catalysis and manufacture of chiral mesoporous inorganic materials were introduced.The development outlooks of chiral surfactants were prospected.
