Properties and classification of bolaamphiphiles were briefed. Structure and method of synthesis of bolaamphiphiles were focused. Based upon classification in accordance with ionic or nonionic bolaamphiphiles, some typical method of synthesis was described. Meanwhile, the orientation and trend for the development of bolaamphiphiles in the future were prospected.
