In the 1980s, political transition started in Argentina, with the birth of civil government, the country embarked on the process of democratization. However, democratic elections are only part of the elements required for desirable political development. The truth is that, since 1980s, Argentina suf- fered much from economic downturns and political unrest. Therefore, in addition to elections, economic performance, institutionalization of party politics and the growth of middle class are also decisive factors for a full-fledged democratic system to be established in the country.
