The influence of mining excavation on the lower sublevel across-cut roadway stability in sublevel caving with pressure-relieving in Chamibishi Copper Mine was studied. The across-cut roadway was located at the middle of the projection of upper sublevel workings. There were 11 rows measuring points on the roadway roof center and both side with the height of 1.2m. The deformation of roof and wall during mining process was monitored by the convergence gauge. The measuring time was about 7 months (3 months before mining, 2 months during mining, and 2 months after mining). The results shown that the influence area caused by mining were the stress decreasing zone which 8 - 18m away from the orebody footwall, the main stress-bearing zone which 18 - 25m away, and the no influence area which 25m away from the orebody footwall. During the mining production, the initial 25 -35d was the main influence period of mining, the 45 - 60d was the large deformation period of rock mass.
