英文摘要：
Lao Naixuan made the significant contributions to the reform of Chinese character in late Qing dynasty. It reflected in two aspects, theory building and social practice. Lao Naixuan deeply explained the necessity and possibility of the reform of Chinese character, gave the reasonable situa- tion and suitable practicing field of character, and properly handled the relationship between the unity of opposites between mandarin and dialect. Based on his own knowledge, Lao Naixuan developed the scientific plan of Pinyin word, then promoted. It produced extensive social influence. Lao Naixuan＇s idea and practice provided valuable theory and experience to the current modernization of Chinese language.
