The single pipeline is mostly a long multi-product pipeline system receiving a number of products from a single refinery source to distribute them among several depots without any separation device between batches of refined products. This paper deals with how to schedule multi-product and reasonable batches of products to meet the demand of the market mostly under the restriction of limited resources. By developing a more rigorous problem representation and improving the R. Rejowski Jr' model, a novel MILP continuous mathematical formulation was presented. To illustrate the proposed approach, a real-world case study was performed. Compared with previous work, better solutions were found at much lower computational time and the quality of the pipeline schedule was remarkably improved.
