Ode on A Hundred Pathoconditions, which records excellent syndrome differentiation and simple acupoint selection,is an ode that comprehensively and systematically describes the acupuncture ＆ moxibustion for disease treatment and the experience in acupoint selection. This paper summarizes the academic thinking about ac- upuncture and moxibustion in Ode on A Hundred Pathoconditions from the following aspects：acupuncture taking effect when applied to a hundred diseases in common people;fewer microneedles but better effect;rational acupoint selection and matching based on syndrome differentiation ; investigating the cause of disease and targeting the related acupoints.
