以李克特式的问卷为基础,辅之以访谈,对800名高职院校学生英语学习动机进行调查.因子分析结果显示高职院校学生英语学习动机有6种类型:内在兴趣动机、信息媒介动机、外部强制型动机、个人发展动机、学习情境动机和成就感动机.学习者个人因素对学习动机类型有一定影响.女生的内在兴趣动机高于男生,而男生的个人发展动机高于女生;高水平学习者的个人发展动机高于低水平学习者;文科学生的内在兴趣动机、外部强制型动机、个人发展动机和学习情境动机均高于理工科学生.
The study examined English learning motivation types of 800 students in a vocational college by a Linkert-scale questionnaire and an interview. Six types of English learning motivation were found on the basis of thefactor analysis : intrinsic interest, information medium, external requirement, individual development, learning sit-uation and sense of achievement. Individual factors were somehow associated with motivation types, that is, female students were more intrinsically motivated than male students, while male students had stronger individual develop- ment motivation; learners with higher language proficiency had stronger individual development motivation than those with lower language proficiency; learners majoring in arts had stronger intrinsic interest motivation, external requirement motivation, individual development motivation and learning situation motivation than those in science and engineering.
