Ethnic cultures embody abundant mathematic elements.Tapping these elements and applying them in mathematics teaching can promote course reform of mathematics for ethnic minorities.Colorful dress patterns of the Yi people display symmetry and balance,contrast and harmony,rhythm and rhyme,as well as varied patterns such as horizontal switch,rotation and axial symmetry.They give vitality to dresses,so it is worth trying to tap,select and apply these resources in middle school mathematics teaching design in an appropriate way.
