As a combination between the late development of translation studies and the postcolonial movement, postcolonial translation theory presumes that translation is a kind of political act,and claims that translators(the colonized) should intervene or rewrite the original text with the colonized's value to reconstruct the image of the colonized, which highlights subjectivity, power relations and cultural identity in the postcolonial translation. This paper, from these three dimensions, explores the essential features of the postcolonial translation studies.
