At first, the present situation of applying electron beam in food irradiation was summarized briefly. Then, some comparisons between the features for the electron accelerator and γ radioactive source were conducted. In the end, a prospect that with the further going deep of research and the constant improvement of matching technology, there is a trend that the electron accelerator will take place of γ radioactive source was proposed.
