The paper discusses the importance of lead time problem using mathematical analysis, establishes a lead time model of mixed production line with one piece flow through deduction and analysis, and finds that the key factors affected lead time are the total setup time of production and the longest processing time of variety among processes, which are optimized using job scheduling and leveling production line. An example is presented to validate that lead time is cut down clearly.
