In this paper, the Gauss - Seidel iterative method for solving linear systems of the form Ax = b was discussed. Hadjidimos A proposed a preconditioner （I＋Cα） . Convergence results of the improving the modified Gauss- Seidel method, referred to as the IMGS, for H matrices were provided. In addition, two numerical examples were given for illustrating the results.
