By using matrix spliting analysis and comparison theorems, the spectral radius of the Gauss-Seidel iterative method being the minimum is proved under the condition that the linear systems matrix A is a diagonally dominant L-matrix. That is the Gauss-Seidel iterative method being the fastest iterafive method in the AOR method. Last the numerical example is given.
