Adad Evale’s The Song in a Cycle,written in 1973,portrays in a highly metaphorical and symbolic manner the survival circumstance blending the traditional view,survival modes and the modernity process of people living at the bottom of the Egyptian society under the shackle of patriarchal political culture. This paper attempts to discuss the textural meaning of the novel in literature from the perspectives of the "trinity"narrative subject,the self-castrated survival maze and the art technique in the narrative crevice so as to explore the Egyptian people’s puzzle and confusion in their modernity process and analyze the author’s conscious profound enlightenment spirit and rebellion awareness by scrutinizing the traditional life of the Egyptian people.
