In the fictional world created by Mo Yan, there stand some unique and distinguished female char- acters, whose distinct personalities and fleshy images leave the audience unforgettable impressions. The fe- males, living in different historical and political settings, holding various social positions, wearing sundry ap- pearances, take roles of the ＂oppressed second sex＂, ＂the sacrificed＂ and the sufferers of tragic destiny, which were caused by historical tragedies, corrupt social malpractices or sexism. Though their life stories vary in endings, their images and temperaments provide Mo Yan magical perspectives to realize his literary dream of deconstructing set historic narration, depicting the times, fustigating social ills and expressing his humanis- tic concerns.
