Lianshan Zhuang nationality has a traditional festival named as Dushi Festival or Er Yue Er which literally means ＂ February 2 of lunar calendar＂ . The main activities in the festival are family union, cultivation-starting celebration and pray for smooth cultivation and heavy harvest. ＂Dushi＂ literally means ＂to eat alone＂ , emphasizing the necessity to prevent people outside the family from eating their food and using their things in case of the damage of their crops. In recent years, some new custom appears in Er Yue Er; the festival＇ s connotation has changed gradually; the shared happy atmosphere of the festival is emphasized and is related to moving into a new house and eliminating some taboos. The festival traditional customs preserve pure and simple belief and witchery ceremony. New costumes are intended to get rid of some taboos through happy atmosphere.
