Chinese character ＂gong （ 工 ）＂ structure,and significance and meaning. It is is worthy to be investigated from its formation not extremely simple as what it seems to be after its history is explored. With double natures.sacred and secular,abstract and concrete,deep and plain,it forms a unique ＂industry＂ form of complete system of Chinese civilization. And the special association between ＂gong （工） and gong （贡, contribution）＂ gives rise to a registration system in ancient China,which is a kind of extremely important cultural heritage of China and deserves academic attention.
