Aim To revalue Summary of Foreign Events on its spreading science and technology. Methods Literature analysis and researching. Results The number of reports about ship building technologies is 223, mainly involving ship type, overall design and related manufacturing technology. There are several varieties, such as armored ship, wooden ship, ship mines, and telecommunications ships. The overall design includes name, length, width, volume, weight, speed, power configuration and artillery configuration of the ships. The associated manufacturing technology includes the building of road, construction of shipyards, rescue boat, muddy water and the methods of wreck rising. Conclusion It is the early successful attempt of Chinese running newspaper, it is of great significance in the history of communication. The spread of ship manufacturing technology, not only directly guides the ship building by the Westernization, but also has far-reaching impact on China＇s manufacturing technology communication and development.
