Horace and the Orphan of the Family Zhao are both regarded as good tragedies,while the first one was from French which was in the＂golden age＂,and the second one was from the Dynasty Yuan of China which was in turbulent times. From the viewpoint of figures＇ function and their aesthetic value,this article will make a comparative analysis of heroism in these two plays,as a reference to explore similarities and differences between Chinese and French classical literature.
