It is shown that the distributions of the lifetime and the death-time for a certain state set in Markov chain are the mixed exponential distribution, and the constrained equations between the distribution and transition rates are given. Based on these contrained equations, it is derived that all transition rates can be uniquely determined by the distributions of their lifetime and death-time at two open states for each type of gating schemes of ion channels with loops. As a result, the corresponding algorithm is provided. Therefore the conclusion derived by Wagner that only one of them is identifiable is overthrown.
