媒介在大众传播学领域意义含混。在符号论中,媒介是符号的可感知部分,是符号的物质载体。符号即媒介,符号化即媒介化。一切艺术存在于符号媒介中,在这个意义上可以说:艺术即媒介。符号媒介论之所以重要,是因为它是文本研究的基础,更是人文学科基础之基础。

英文摘要:

The term "medium" is characterised by the ambiguity in mass communication studies. From the perspective of semiotics, the medium is the appreciable part of a sign, which is then regarded as the material vehicle of a sign. As such, the sign is the medium, while the signifying is the process of mediumisation. Hence, art can also be perceived as a medium. Delving into the relationship between signs and their medium is of great importance, because this forms not only the foundation of textual studies, but is also a vital base for the humanities.
