Objective To explore the validity of telephone combined with WeChat health education in discharged diabetic patients with insulin pump. Methods 60 discharged diabetic patients with stable blood sugar and insulin pump therapy were enrolled, and equally divided into experimental group and control group. The patients in the control group was given traditional outpatient follow-up method while the patients in the experimental group were given telephone combined with We Chat health education. After six months of intervention, the levels of fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin, the use knowledge and skills of insulin pumps, the condition of adverse events were compared between 2 groups. Results After discharged, there was no significant difference between 2 groups patients on fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, the use knowledge and skills of insulin pumps( P〉0. 05). After discharged 6 months, the level of fasting plasma glucose in observation group( 6. 23 ± 0. 71) was better than the control group( 6. 89 ± 1. 22)( P〈0. 05),the level of glycated hemoglobin in observation group( 6. 51 ± 0. 49) was obviously better than the control group( 6. 89 ± 0. 59)( P〈0. 01). Within discharged 6 month, the occurrences of unexpected hypoglycemia, injection site skin infections or induration in the observation group were less than that of the control group, the differences in statistically were obviously significant( P〈0. 01),the occurrences of unexpected hyperglycemia was less than the control group( P〈0. 05). Conclusion Telephone combined with We Chat health education can help discharged diabetic patients with pump therapy maintain higher skills of pump use and better blood glucose control, and reduce pump-related adverse events.
